Uganda offers investors ready access to the local, regional and international markets for their products. This is because Uganda has entered into bilateral, multilateral, regional and preferential trade arrangements which offer free access to Ugandan exports to many countries across the world. Examples include the US African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) which offers unlimited market access to more than 100 exports from Africa. The Everything But Arms (EBA) and the EU/ACP arrangements to provides access for Ugandan exports to the European market.
On the regional level, as members of the East African Community (EAC), Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), and Inter-governmental Agency on Drought and Desertification (IGAD), Uganda market access to all member countries of these organizations.
At the bilateral level, Uganda has concluded specific preferential market access arrangements with individual countries which include Libya, Japan, Canada, Australia, China and Russia among others.
